Gestational surrogates are customarily compensated or paid ancillary expenses, on average, between $20,000 and $35,000 for their time and effort (the amount is determined, in part, by whether you are a repeat gestational surrogate). All travel and out-of-pocket expenses will be covered as well, and provisions will be made in the legal agreement for any necessary bed rest costs. Whether you will receive compensation or reasonable living expenses is in part determined by the State laws where you live.
These fees do fluctuate somewhat depending on the circumstances and are offered as general guidance only.
