BASE FEE: $50,000 to $65,000

These are some of the basic requirements for becoming a surrogate in DC:

  • 21 to 44 years old

  • Given birth to a child of your own

  • Financially stable

  • Healthy with a body mass index (BMI) 32 or less

A gestational surrogate is also known as a gestational carrier. She carries a child conceived through in-vitro fertilization (IVF) using the eggs from an egg donor or the intended mother. The child will not be genetically related to the gestational surrogate.
